here are some photos from my trip to italy - mangia! btw, i don't care what those people at olive garden try to tell you, it's NOT pronounced "pasta fazool!" i may or may not have been laughed at for that. and while i'm at it, there's no such thing as gabagool or mootzarel either!
| going to italy! hopefully i'll get my own seat on the way back. what a couple of cheap bastards. |
| on the eurostar train, travelling from rome to florence |
| in front of ghiberti's famous bronze doors of the baptistery in florence |
| at the arno river in florence...pretttty. hope i don't fall in! a good breeze will send me tumbling. |
| taking a day trip to siena and san gimignano! we all get stickers so they know who's part of the tour group. |
| having lunch in piazza del campo in siena. ahhh....acqua naturale (no fizzies) |
| i got a pretty good seat facing the piazza |
| and i brought friends |
| hanging out in the piazza in san gimignano |
| chillin' on the spanish steps at night - it's our first night in rome |
| at the trevi fountain. this was just steps from our hotel so we got to see it every day. i can't carry any coins to throw in the fountain so i guess i won't get to return to rome...non importa, i can't throw over my head anyway. |
| outside st. peter's basilica. they don't allow bunnies in churches around here. check out this cool dude next to me... |
| in vatican city. can you see me??? everything here is monstrously HUGE. |
| at the spanish steps in the morning. it's MUCH less crowded now! |
| at the piazza del popolo. if you've read Angels and Demons then you know why i'm here. lots of stuff seemed to be covered in scaffolding during my visit. and then they think if they put up a picture of the what it looks like, it makes it all better.
hmpf. |
| at the pantheon. i'm sure it used to be a much prettier building before they stole everything to build st. peter's basilica. poor pantheon! it's still massive though - look how small the people are standing next to it. |
| mmmmm...cappuccino! yummy. taking a break from our tour. note to loud american lady, screaming "latte, latte, latte!" at the barista won't help you get what you want. |
| at the colosseum |
| they didn't do a very good job of maintaining this place. |
| do i smell? how come no one wants to stand next to me? |
| whew, i'm bushed! let's go home! |
